Summer Lovin’ Readathon: Day 3- Look At Me, I’m Sandra Dee + Page 99 Test

July 3, 2013 Challenges 2

Introduce us to your favorite fictional female – What does she look like? Is there an actress that you think of when you think of the character? Is she tough or timid? You could do a mock interview with your character, or create a bio/resume for her.

Hmmn… I would want to name my favorite fictional female as Kaia. She would be born from the sea and a cold-bloodied assassin. She must probably look like a young Megan Fox, dark haired with that almost snobbish look. She’d be tall, around 5’10 but would carry herself with casual elegance. She’s of average weight, not thin, not fat either. She likes wearing hooded dresses but does not mind showing enough flesh to tempt any man that comes her way. She’ll pair this with high heeled and knee high leather boots.

Her smile is always a smirk. Kaia’s tough and one of hell of a bully. But deep inside, she’s compassionate to those who deserve it. But most of the time, she’s cold, detached and sarcastic. She’s also a good judge of character. Every time she kills, it should always be for a good purpose.

And because I generally suck at being a talkshow host or being a Human Resource personnel, I decided to make a bio for Kaia.

Name: Kaia

Meagan from Reviewing Wonderland has given us an appetizing challenge for Readathon’s 3rd day event, the page 99 test. All I have to do is directly go to page 99 of a book I haven’t yet read and give a synopsis of that page without plagiarism and giving too much spoiler.

For this challenge, I selected Inferno by Dan Brown since it’s one of my 2013 must-read books.

Inferno’s page 99 started with Prof. Robert Langdon’s thought: “Seek and Ye shall find…” Apparently, they are hiding from a drone, most probably sent by his enemy. Robert was with a girl named Sienna and they are trying to get out from a dark grotto. The drone was emitting a high pitched sound as it scanned the dark cavern for Robert and Sienna.

Since they were trapped and the possibility of getting out is almost nil, Robert Langdon thought again: “A good place to die.”

Heavens, even without this terrifying information from page 99, I am certain, absolute that I am going to read this book. The title alone is already an appetizer. How much more when you have read a page 99 snapshot of this book? So YES, this gal will be burying her nose and sacrificing a good night’s sleep to join Robert Langdon in this new thrilling adventure.
