List your must-have summer reading (the ones you read over and over again) or give us some of your favorite recommended summer reads.
I did mention in my posts that my pesky Harry Potter addiction has relapsed and this actually sidetracked me from reading my “to-read” books for the month. So if anyone wants to know what are my recommended summer reads, it would be:
- Harry Potter Book 1-7 by J.K. Rowling- An excellent read for any season. Summer is about having fun, finding your place under the sun, getting together with your families and friends, and embarking on extraordinary adventures. And what book can better give you that but Harry Potter?
- Fablehaven Books 1-5 by Brandon Mull- This is light, fun and very fast paced that even adults would find it hard to put this book down. It’s about two siblings discovering that they are the succeeding caretakers of a magical sanctuary.
- Percy Jackson and the Olympians Books 1-5 by Rick Riordan- A book that tells the story of a demigod and Greek Gods and Goddesses in this modern world. It has plenty of out-of-town adventure which is great for those who would like to travel but simply can’t.
For Day 2’s Summer Lovin’ Challenge, Nancy @ TumblingBooks challenges us to make a cover re-do for any book. For this, I selected the Rise of Nine by Pittacus Lore since it really gives me that creepy feeling.
From this original yet dull cover:
I thought that it would sell more if it looks like below. I literally interpreted the title and my imagination brought me to a graveyard where a number nine is rising from the earth.
I just wished that I have the talent to draw so that I have done a more thorough job on this cover re-do.
