Stacking the Shelves {3}

July 20, 2013 Stacking the Shelves 10

Hey, hey! It’s Stacking the Shelves once again, a meme hosted by Tynga of Tynga’s Reviews which is about sharing the books that one is adding to his or her shelf may it be physical or virtual.

As for my part, this week has been a bountiful one compared to my standard of getting 1-2 books a week. Yeah, I know, I’m a slowpoke but I hate looking at staggering piles of TBR. It pressures me, it nags me and it will just make me an annoying git. I only commit to read a lot of books if I am not busy with work which sadly is taking a lot of my time but which I can’t put aside since it’s the main thing that supports my bookish addiction.

Enough of that anyway and let’s have a look at the books that I have managed to get this week.

First and foremost, I was able to get approval from the publishers thru NetGalley for the following:

And from my own pocket…

And one which I got for free from Smashwords… big thanks to David Estes.

I am pretty much excited to read all these in the succeeding days. To be honest, I am already finished reading Fae and Slumber and I am cuing up my reviews for the two books. The Cuckoo’s Calling was purchased impulsively since–I don’t know if you have heard the news or if you’re interested–it’s J.K. Rowling’s pseudonym! So after hearing the news last Sunday, just like everyone else, I panicked and bought it. I know, I’m a great stalker of her. 😀

What about you? What titles have you managed to get this week?

    I've read Slumber and I loved it. The others I've seen around. Really nice haul and happy reading. 🙂

    @Sandy

    Yay! Thanks for that, Sandy. Spoiler alert: I also enjoyed Slumber and to think that I didn't know the author. It was a gem from the loads of books upload in NG. 😀

    Oooh! Slumber looks really good! I haven't heard much about the others (Except The Cuckoo's Calling which has been in the news and all!). Great haul though!

    I'm a follower!

    Yeah, I really did enjoy Slumber, Jade. And that's actually a wonder for me since I usually stick to my favorite Y/A authors or authors that have proven their worth in the Y/A world. And I don't Tamara but there you are, I liked Slumber.

    I am a die hard fan of JK Rowling so yeah, it's expected that I'll munch all the books that she's written even if disappoints me sometimes. 😀

    Slumber has a very pretty cover! And that's cool that you got The Cuckoo's Calling 😀

    I think it's easier to get books on NG than EW, but keep trying! Keep blogging! Sometimes, it's better NOT to be overwhelmed by a ton of eARCs 🙂

    Thanks for visiting my blog!

    Thanks for that words of confidence, Alyssa. 😀 Yeah, I am in agreement that it's much better to have fewer ARCs but what I'm requesting are from my favorite authors so it keep things at minimum. Unfortunately, I always get rejected for those requests.
